Senior Management - Simon Cox

SENIOR MANAGEMENT

Simon Cox Head of Fieldwork

Since graduating from the University of Cardiff in 1993 Simon has accumulated extensive experience in professional British Field Archaeology, initially working on various sites in Gloucestershire, Avon and Essex. For seven years he worked for the Field Unit of Bristol City Council on both rural and urban Projects, and during this time Simon developed a specialism for deeply-stratified urban excavations, particularly medieval and post-medieval waterfront sites and town defences. Simon moved to Cotswold Archaeology as a Project Manager in 2001 and has continued to work on major urban projects in Bristol, Gloucester, Worcester and Birmingham, as well as major rural evaluations and excavations, and pipeline schemes.

A member of the Senior Management Team, Simon has overall responsibility for maintaining the high quality and efficiency of CA's extensive fieldwork portfolio, as well as the delivery of major fieldwork and consultancy projects. Simon is also responsible for the continuous development and improvement of CA's excavation methodologies and use of Information Technology.
