A46 Improvement between Newark and Widmerpool

CA wins major new contract in Nottinghamshire

CA has entered into a joint venture with Wessex Archaeology to undertake major archaeological investigations associated with the improvement of the A46 between Newark and Widmerpool in Nottinghamshire. The scheme is part of the Government's £1billion fiscal stimulation package announced at the end of 2008. The joint venture is known as Cotswold Wessex Archaeology (CWA) and will work very closely with main contractor Balfour Beatty and scheme designer Scott Wilson to deliver the highest standard of archaeological work. Work includes trial trenching, strip, map and sample excavation and detailed excavation near the Roman town of Margidunum. We are delighted to have been appointed to undertake the project and are enjoying working with Balfour Beatty, Scott Wilson and Wessex Archaeology.
